Equalize Sensory Services is hiring passionate and talented Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI), Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists(COMS), Braillists, Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TOD), Sign Language Interpreters, Language Facilitators and Educational Audiologists for the 2021-22 school year and beyond. We have job opportunities all over the great state of North Carolina from the mountains to the coast and everywhere in between. We serve children and adults with vision and hearing loss and would love for you to join the Team! We offer a supportive environment, where you can grow professionally and do what you LOVE!
The Equalize Sensory Services team is reaching students and clients who are otherwise being underserved or unserved for their unique needs related to blindness or deafness. We are bringing our knowledge, passion and expertise to people who really need it. When you join the Equalize Team you make a difference… you change lives!
We are not a headhunter, or a recruiting company. We are a VI- and HI-only contracting company with a heart for improving the lives of people who have a sensory loss.
If you are interested in making your own hours, choosing your schedule and your travel zone, while making a difference, a position with Equalize Sensory Services might be the perfect fit for you! We offer excellent hourly compensation and travel time compensation, with none of the headaches of extra-duties or expectations of a typical teaching position. Contracting is a great opportunity for those people interested in working just a few hours a week up to full time. Imagine being truly valued for the work you do and your paycheck reflecting your worth!
We also provide leadership support by professionals who know your field and regular professional development opportunities specific to your discipline.
If you want to explore becoming an Equalize Sensory Services Team Member, you should:
- be certified in your area with at least 3 years of successful experience in your area (or be certifiable in NC after relocation).
- or have a strong base of teaching experience with add-on TVI/HI certification and a successful student teaching experience
- exceptional new graduates will be considered with excellent references and strong student-teaching experience
- LOVE what you do!
- have strong verbal and written communication skill
